It’s been 9 weeks since the darkest day of the year. For many of us sixteen hours of darkness at the start of winter is nothing more than an aesthetic inconvenience. For others, it triggers a psychological impairment – seasonal affective disorder.
I hadn’t given it much more thought than this until now. This winter marks the first time we’ve depended on the suns light for electricity, and by extension, manufactured light. (more…)
