  • hosting the Satuday evening film at 7:00 pm – “One Man, One Cow, One Planet”

We Dream in Green – Saturday, June 21, 2008, 9:30 am

What happens when two urban environmentalists are arrogant enough to believe that they can walk the walk? Kelly and Bridget of boilingfrog.ca relocate home and business in hopes to realize their dreams to develop an off-grid live/work space. What are some of the things they learned along the way that most people dare not try at home? How are they pulling this off with little to no money?

Following years of varied service in the environmental movement, Kelly Reinhardt and Bridget Haworth founded boilingfrog.ca in January 2002. Boilingfrog is a small grassroots media organization that gives voice to activists and issues that you don’t hear in the mainstream. They moved to Craik from Toronto, arriving on Earth Day 2007.  Since then, they continue to keep the dream alive despite the obstacles discovered in an unfamiliar playing field.

We had a quiet celebration on June 5th, World Environment Day. It was this day that our Labyrinth or Ponder Path received from the Craik Town Council, official status of being a naturalized landscape.

 labyrinth

This is great because this Ponder Path has provided us with such joy. We walk it regularly while meditating and manifesting our green dreams. Our cat, Sneaky, usually joins us. She’ll walk on the path then leap into the tall grass to ambush one of us.

To us the Labyrinth is beautiful and we invite everyone to take a walk on the wild side and bask in the beauty that nature provides.  Â
